Almost Gourmet

This is a fun group of
ladies who lunch together once a month in a member's home. Everyone take a turn
being on a hostess team for one luncheon during the year. The other months, you enjoy
a delightful lunch served by the hostess team. Everyone takes home the recipes for the
dishes served! By the end of the year, you will have a wonderful group of friends and a
delightful collection of delicious recipes.




                          Book Group Two and Three

                          Barrington Newcomers and Neighbors like to read! Two books groups
meet throughout the year, reading and discussing a variety of fiction and non-fiction
works. One group meets in the evening, the other is a daytime group. And, with the
growing interest in book discussions, a fourth group might be in the works.


Bunco

Want a night of fun
and relaxation? Join
the Bunco group. This fast paced but easy dice game allows for laughs and chatting
throughout the evening. No special skills required, just roll the dice and see what
happens.


                              Ladies Bowling

                            This group meets every Monday at Deer Park Lanes. Bowling begins
at 9:20 a.m. and ends by 11:30 a.m. The league is divided into teams of three and
beginners are always welcome. Free childcare is available on-site. If you can't commit
to every Monday, substitutes are always needed.


Ladies Game Day

Ladies' Game Day meets
the first Thursday of every month for food, fun and games. The group meets at a
member's home and the game selection changes monthly.


                          Fun Activities

                           Looking to do something new or different but don't want to go it
                           alone? Like to shop or go to the movies? Small groups get together to
explore the area. In the past, groups have gone bike riding, learned belly dancing, or
just have lunch and go to a movie. Each month a different activity takes place.

Wine Tasting

This is a couple's event
that is open to all members. Anyone who possess the basic biological equipment in
the form of a nose and a palate can taste wine! If you are a wine lover, or just want to
learn more about wines from all over the world, this group is for you. They meet several
times a year, on a Saturday evening in a member's home, and each meeting features
a different wine.

                          Weekend Gourmet

                           Do you have average culinary skills but like to eat? The Weekend
                            Gourmet group is a fun and relaxed dining group which meets monthly
throughout the year. You will make new friends and collect a great set of menus and
recipes. Each event is held at a member's home with a host team. The host team
plans and organizes the evening for the entire group. Everyone who attends prepares
one of the recipes and brings a bottle (or two) of wine to complement the meal. If you
struggle with what to fix for dinner, this is a great place to get some fantastic ideas.

Bridge

Always wanted to
learn how to play bridge? Need to brush up your skills? This beginning group meets
weekly, twice a month with an instructor. A great opportunity to spend the morning
learning.




                               Gardening Group

If you are interested in learning more about gardening and gardening techniques, this
group is for you. There will be a variety of programs and field trips throughout the year
that will offer something for every interest and skill level.

Other activities: golf, coffee and conversation, special activities for families, outdoor
adventures and more.
